I mentioned Pastor Madrid's plight in our Bible study class last night. This satire uses humour to accentuate the injustice of our system.
Help the environment -- Sign up now to help water newly-planted pine trees! Last October's Diocesan Convention voted to get involved with various groups to plant trees as part of our call to environmental responsibility. St. John's Cathedral has organized with Spokane Ponderosa and the Lands Council to tend 5,000 newly-planted trees along the North-South Freeway Corridor (north of Francis, east of Market) during May-October. They're looking for teams of 4 people to help. Each team will water 200 saplings. A water truck will be there -- just fill buckets and go.This will go on during May-October. Ideally, we'd like to organize at least one St. David's team. Otherwise, individuals can sign up with people from St. John's. Deacon Finn Pond is collecting names and weeks available -- please contact him ASAP at 509-251-2639 to sign up!
